News from the rectorate!
On the morning of November 12th, there was a meeting of the rectorate, which was attended by the president of the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representation (hereinafter - VDU SA) Justinas Petkus. At the beginning of the meeting, cooperation agreements were signed with the College of Social Sciences and the National Institute of Social Integration. During the rectorate, the study perspectives of the Faculties of Social Sciences, Politics and Diplomacy, Economics and Management and Law for 2015-2016 were presented. They talked about the optimization of subjects, program changes, presented ideas about improving the list of subjects for A groups, perspectives of practitioners, side studies, discussed opportunities and shortcomings.
As you already know, this Friday, November 15, Kaunas celebrates International Student Day (ISD). On that occasion, the university government is replaced by students. This is a tradition that has been going on for the seventh year, which Gabrielė Stasiūnaitė, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences, is taking over this year. In congratulation, the rector presented the future student rector with the statute and wished her and the team to faithfully follow it. It was also celebrated and the topic chosen, which this year will be about the improvement of student practice processes at the university. According to the rector, it is really relevant for the student community.
It was also mentioned that on November 20, the regalia of an honorary doctor will be presented to the British journalist Edward Lucas in the Great Hall of VMU.
