Examination monitoring will take place during the session

After two years of quarantine and distance learning, we are back to face-to-face learning and live audiences and accounts. In order to ensure academic integrity during the session, the VMU Student Representation organizes examination monitoring during the session and invites students to monitor settlements.

Academic Affairs Coordinator Gustė Žukauskaitė reminds that everyone who enters a higher education institution and signs a study contract signs that they will be academically honest and adhere to the Code of Academic Ethics. Plagiarism, falsification of scientific data, biased assessment of them, writing off during settlements - non-compliance with academic honesty. By following it, we can ensure not only compliance with the procedures and rules established by the university and the quality of studies, but also our own, as a student, full absorption of knowledge and the quality of the work performed. There are severe penalties for academic dishonesty: work not being graded, not being able to reschedule, being in debt or being expelled from the university. All this is described VMU academic ethics code, VMU plagiarism prevention in the preparation of students' written works in regulations and other documents.

"As settlements take place in a contact manner, academic honesty and maintaining fairness during the session can be ensured by observing the exams," says Gustė. The coordinator shares that this year the exams will be observed not only by teachers, but also by students. A student observer can help the examiner check each student's ID and distribute exam papers to students if necessary.
