New VMU SA President, Board and Audit elected

On March 8, the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Council (VDU SA) held a reporting and election conference. During the conference, the VDU SA annual activity, financial, Audit and Board reports were presented. The new VDU SA Board, Audit Commission were elected, and Vitalija Jakubaitytė, a bachelor of the Faculty of Law, was elected as the president of the VDU SA.


At the beginning of the conference, VMU SA President Emilija Drabužinskaitė presented the annual activity and financial reports. The members of the Student Parliament and guests had questions regarding the implemented and unimplemented work of the organization and the use of funds.


The Chairman of the Audit Commission, Vytautas Čepas, presented the Audit Commission report and expressed praise and comments to the VMU SA office, the activities carried out by the organization, and gave recommendations for future work. By the resolution of the Student Parliament, all three reports were approved. The Chairman of the Board, Monika Ražauskaitė, presented the annual report of the VMU SA Board, and the work done by the Board was presented.


After the presentation of documents, the election of the VMU SA President took place. Candidate Vitalija Jakubaitytė presented the guidelines for activities, the future VMU SA Office, and answered questions from the members of the Student Parliament and guests.


During the conference, candidates for the VMU SA Board introduced themselves: Emilija Drabužinskaitė, Paulius Vaitiekus, Aistė Balazaitė, Toma Rasiukevičiūtė, Gabija Paškevičiūtė and Viktorija Čiapaitė.


Also during the conference, candidates for the VMU SA Audit Commission presented themselves. The following candidates sought to fill these positions: Martynas Vitkus, Monika Žąsytytė, Gabrielė Jonuškaitė, Gustė Žukauskaitė, and Greta Kuliešiūtė. 


After counting the parliamentary votes, Vitalija Jakubaitytė was elected president of the VMU SA (23 votes in favor, 2 against, and 2 abstentions).


The following members of the VMU SA Board became members: Emilija Drabužinskaitė, Paulius Vaitiekus, Aistė Balazaitė, Toma Rasiukevičiūtė, Gabija Paškevičiūtė. Viktorija Čiapaitė was not elected.

The following were elected as members of the VMU SA Audit Commission: Martynas Vitkus, Monika Žąsytytė, Gabrielė Jonuškaitė, Gustė Žukauskaitė, Greta Kuliešiūtė. Greta Kuliešiūtė became the chairperson of the audit.


29 student representatives participated in the reporting-election meeting of the Student Parliament of the VMU Student Representative Council. The conference was chaired by Dominykas Tvaska, former president of the VILNIUS TECH Student Representative Council. The secretary was Jan Subatovič, former head of the Klaipėda State College office and public relations coordinator.

The conference was also attended by VMU Rector Prof. Juozas Augutis, Director of the Student Affairs Department Mantas Simanavičius, former Chairman of the VMU Senate Ričardas Krikštolaitis, and Dean of the Faculty of Informatics Tomas Krilavičius.
