The discussion is about the relations between Ukraine and the EU
On Tuesday, April 8, at 6 p.m., another discussion about Ukraine will be held at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Diplomacy of VMU (Gedimino St. 44-203). This time, the topic of the scientific event is "Ukraine in the EU: is it possible?".
The participants of the discussion will discuss the events of the last few weeks in Ukraine and the position of the European Union in their context, they will present forecasts regarding Ukraine's European integration process, the development of the Eastern Partnership policy, etc. questions.
According to the well-known political scientist, VMU Political Science and Diplomacy Faculty Dean Prof. Šarūnas Liekis, the events of recent months in Ukraine have shaken the whole world, and the actions of the European Union in relation to Ukraine are very important and significant.
"It is necessary that the European Union unitedly supports Ukraine, all democratic and economic changes in this country. A big role in this context also belongs to Lithuania - here we can play an important role of experts, similarly to other post-Soviet countries", emphasized the dean.
Foreign and VMU researchers will be invited to the discussion table: Spanish and Basque political scientist, well-known television and radio political commentator Dr. Asier Blas Mendoza, a French scientist who has been studying the politics of Eastern and Central European countries for many years, Dr. Philippe Perchoc, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Diplomacy, prof. Šarūnas Liekis and lecturer of the Department of Political Science, energy security specialist dr. Giedrius Cesnakas. The discussion will be moderated by the head of the Department of Political Science, Assoc. Andrzej Pukšto.
The event is organized by the Faculty of Political Sciences and Diplomacy together with the Academic Club of Political Scientists. The language of the discussion is English.
