The sixth generation of "Student, be a student" participants has been released

On April 3rd, the project "Moksleivi, pobūkštutu" organized by the Vytautas Didios student representative office (hereinafter - VDU SA) ended for the sixth time, in which students of grades 10-12 participated.

The purpose of this project is to familiarize students with the university, its values and structure, student organizations, the field of study of interest and student life. However, students did not only attend lectures that interested them, but also engaged in various extracurricular activities, during which they were introduced to Vytautas the Great University.

An introductory breakfast was organized, during which students had the opportunity to express their expectations and get to know each other. In the evening of the same day, a lecture was held, led by the former president of VDU SA, Justinas Petkus, and SRT director, VDU SA Alumni Mantas Simanavičius. Also, students took part in orientation competitions, a brainstorming session, a cycle of informal lectures "I, beer and teacher" and had the opportunity to participate in the festive evening of nominations and talents "V2". Well, on the last day, there was a general discussion of the project, the impressions of the week were shared, certificates and souvenir gifts were handed out.

The project raises the competitive entrance score by 0.5 percent for the students who participated in it, if they enter the VMU by prior admission or without using the LAMA BPO system and applying for a place that is not financed by the state.

Student Simona, who dreams of studying Public Communication, says: "I gained experience, I gained more independence, and I also felt student life." Other students supported Simona during the discussion of the project. They were happy that most of the lectures were very interesting, as the biggest plus they named the fact that this project helped them make a better decision about their future specialty, and they were also very impressed by all the extracurricular activities.

Although there was no shortage of activities for the students and there was no time to relax, the interviewed students said that they were satisfied with the project and the opportunity to get to know the university and its community. We hope that these 3 weeks, during which the project took place, were useful for the students and will help them in choosing their life path.
