The possibility of becoming a student while studying at school is possible

On November 25, students who participated in the project "Students, become a student!" organized by the VMU Student Representation said goodbye to Vytautas Magnus University (VDU). This year, the project took place for three weeks - in October and November. During the project, students had the opportunity to see the studies up close, understand what they want to study in the future and what field they would like to become specialists in. They also had the opportunity to see the quality of higher education, attend lectures together with students and get to know the university premises. The main goal of the project is to acquaint 10-12th grade students with selected study programs, new people, teachers and university procedures.

Students from all over Lithuania could choose any study program offered at the university. The teachers treated the students as students and during the lectures the students were actively involved in the activities. The director of the Department of Student Affairs, Mantas Simanavičius, told the project participants about VMU, the admissions system, study programs and dormitories. However, students not only got to know the idea, goals and spaces of the university, but also had the opportunity to participate in various evening activities.

"Like every year, students surprise us with their desire and enthusiasm to see as much as possible, to learn as much as possible about the university and study programs. I can say that there was no lack of productivity for everyone during the project and everyone actively participated in the activities", says Vygailė Pundzaitė, the organizer of this year's project.

This project takes into account the choice of today's schoolchildren - the project aims to help decide what field of specialist the young person wants to become in the future. It also helps to familiarize yourself with LAMA BPO and university admission procedures. Students who have participated in the project have the opportunity to receive an additional 0.5 points to the total competitive score when enrolling at Vytautas the Great University, by pre-admission or by applying for a place not financed by the state (vnf) outside the LAMA BPO system.
