Spring Festival 2022 invites you to burst the bubbles in the environment

The Spring Festival is an event organized for the 21st time by the Student Representative Office of Vytautas the Great University, intended not only for VMU, but also for the entire Kaunas city community. The slogan of this year's festival "Let's burst the bubbles!" invites us to pause and critically evaluate the information around us, because it is not always correct or presented from different perspectives. Therefore, on May 11 and 13, the organizers invite you to develop critical thinking, get to know different opinions and nurture your uniqueness.

During the Spring Festival, there will be various activities. On Wednesday, from 6 p.m. 30 min., in Vienybės Square, the event "Freedom for the Soul Daužo" will await visitors, which promotes freedom of expression and the development of tolerance and understanding towards other people. Also during it, from 7 p.m. there will be a discussion about faith and LGBTQ+ with actress Elžbieta Latėnaite, who does not hide her bisexuality and would like as many Lithuanian people as possible to be themselves and be proud of it, and the priest, Lithuanian Franciscan St. Evaldus Darulis, Minister of Kazimierz Province.

On the main day of the festival, Friday, everyone is invited to participate in an escape room organized by the LSU Student Representation, where participants will develop their critical thinking and quick decision-making. There will also be a discussion on another topic surrounded by myths - politics. In the discussion, Donatas Jankauskas, the former mayor of Kaunas district municipality, member of the Seimas, Minister of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania, and Marius Matijošaitis - the youngest member of this Seimas, political scientist, individual freedom nurturer, devoted optimist that illusions in politics can be dispelled by example, will talk about the lies encountered in politics and rumors floating around. The discussion will take place at 5 p.m. in the restaurant "Lamiija" Laisvės al. 50.

The festival will be crowned with a free closing concert on Unity Square, dispelling the myth that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. The band Begedžiai, Free Finga and Saulės Kliošas Trio will create a good mood. The concert will start at 19:00 and everyone is welcome!
