The series of events is about philosophy in cinema, image and sound

In April, the VMU philosophy student scientific society "Agora" is organizing a series of events "Philosophy (Almost) in Cinema", during which meetings will be held with representatives of various professions, and philosophy will be discussed in the context of cinema, computer graphics, and electronic music.

On Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m., the VMU Art Gallery "101" (Laisvės al. 53) will host the event "Philosophy in Cinema", during which there will be a screening of the film "Bicycle Thieves" (Ladri di biciclette, 1948, directed by Vittorio De Sica) and a lecture by philosopher and VMU lecturer Algirdas Davidavičius.

Exactly one week later, on April 14, at 6 p.m., the cycle will continue in the VMU Great Hall (S. Daukanto St. 28) with a lecture and interactive preview by VMU graduate and 3D computer graphics creator Andrius Balčiūnas, known under the pseudonym "CryingHorn", during which it will be possible to try out one of the most interesting video games of all time, "Journey".

The last event of the series, a lecture-audience "Philosophy in Sound", will take place on April 28, at 6 p.m., at Gallery "101". The legendary film "Koyaanisqatsi" (1982) by director Godfrey Reggio will be screened here, for which electronic music producer Karolis Balčius ("Raging Raven") has created his own sound interpretation.

The events are free and anyone can participate.
