Resolutions of the VMU Rectorate

October 7 a meeting of the rectorate of Vytautas the Great University was held, in which the president of our representative office, Mindaugas Grigas, also participated.

During the meeting, the VMU doctoral student club was legalized, which will aim to expand the horizons of doctoral students in all fields and levels, improve the quality of doctoral studies, answer questions relevant to doctoral students, e.g. on research funding. The director of the Student Affairs Office, Mantas Simonavičius, presented the procedure for awarding fee concessions for studies in the fall semester of 2015-2016 mm. It is reminded that benefits are awarded based on two criteria: grade point average and social status.

The new VMU rector Juozas Augutis provided general information. The idea of forming a cluster of VMU, Šiauliai University, Klaipėda University and Lithuanian University of Education (concentration of competing and cooperating institutions) was explored. Decisions of university senates on this issue are still awaited. It was informed that the university council is being formed, which includes our president Mindaugas Grigas and Student Parliament delegate Marius Kybartas. The rector will also remind us of the national and international rankings of our university. We are happy that according to the magazine "Ratings", our university is in the third place, and according to the students' own assessment, it is even in the first place.

The guidelines of their activities were presented by J. Kiršienė, vice-rector of science, I. Dabašinskienė, vice-rector of international relations, and K. Šidlauskas, vice-rector of studies.
