Kaune:

  • S. Daukanto g. 28,
  • V. Putvinskio g. 23,
  • K. Donelaičio g. 52,
  • Vytauto pr. 71,
  • Jonavos g. 66,
  • Taikos pr. 119,
  • V. Čepinskio g. 5,
  • Ž. E. Žilibero g. 6.

Akademijoje:

  • Universiteto g. 8 ir
  • Universiteto g. 6.

Vilniuje:

  • T. Ševčenkos g. 31
  • A. Vivulskio g. 36

Important: Kai kuriuose pastatuose (pvz., K. Donelaičio g. 58) priedangų nėra, todėl esant pavojui reikia vykti į nurodytas gretimas vietas, pavyzdžiui, K. Donelaičio g. 52 rūsį.

Jei reikia ilgesnės apsaugos (iki 2 parų), naudojami kolektyvinės apsaugos statiniai (dažniausiai mokyklos, kultūros ar sporto centrai), kur teikiamos būtinosios paslaugos: maistas, vanduo, medicininė pagalba.

Pasiruošimas: ką galite padaryti dabar?

1.  Susikonfigūruokite telefoną: Perspėjimo pranešimai siunčiami lietuvių, anglų ir rusų kalbomis per korinio transliavimo kanalus (578, 525, 605). Instrukcijas rasite svetainėje www.lt72.lt.

What to do during a weather emergency: key information for VDU Students

The VDU community is encouraged to familiarize themselves in advance with information about shelters, collective protection structures, and proper behavior during an emergency (weather emergency).

Air Threat Warning Signals

Air threat alerts are color-coded to indicate the threat level and necessary actions:

Yellow alert – an air threat is likely, but there are no dangerous objects in Lithuanian territory yet. At this time, it is important to remain calm, identify the nearest shelters in advance, and call 112 if you spot a suspicious object.

Red alert – an air threat is confirmed; the object is already flying in Lithuanian airspace or is highly likely to enter it. You must immediately proceed to the nearest shelter; if none is available, take cover in a safe room following the “two-wall rule” and monitor updates from LRT.

White Alert – The air threat has passed. You may leave the shelters, but it is recommended to remain vigilant and continue to follow official updates.

Actions at the university and in dormitories

Upon receiving a red alert, everyone in university buildings must act in an organized manner:

During classes: The lecturer must immediately stop the class and inform students of the need to evacuate to the nearest safe location.

In dormitories: Residents should take their essential belongings, follow the administrator’s instructions, and go to the dormitory basement or the nearest shelter.

The most important rule: Do not panic, remain calm, and stay in shelters until the all-clear is given.

Where to find shelter?

Shelters are spaces (basements, underground parking lots, tunnels) designed to temporarily protect people from airborne hazards, blast waves, or shrapnel. The following VDU buildings are designated as shelters:

In Kaunas:

  • 28 S. Daukanto St.,
  • 23 V. Putvinskio St.,
  • 52 K. Donelaičio St.,
  • 71 Vytauto Ave.,
  • 66 Jonavos St.,
  • 119 Taikos Ave.,
  • 5 V. Čepinskio St.,
  • 6 Ž. E. Žilibero St.

At the Academy:

  • 8 Universiteto St.
  • 6 Universiteto St.

In Vilnius:

  • 31 T. Ševčenkos St.
  • 36 A. Vivulskio St.

Important: Some buildings (e.g., 58 K. Donelaičio St.) do not have shelters; therefore, in case of danger, you must proceed to the designated nearby locations, such as the basement at 52 K. Donelaičio St.

If longer-term shelter is needed (up to 2 days), collective shelters (usually schools, cultural centers, or sports centers) are used, where essential services, such as food, water, and medical assistance, are provided.

Preparation: What can you do now?

  1. Set up your phone: Alert messages are sent in Lithuanian, English, and Russian via cellular broadcast channels (578, 525, 605). Instructions are available at www.lt72.lt.
  2. Know the locations: Familiarize yourself with the detailed list of VDU shelters and their locations in your faculty or dormitory.

  3. Use the resources: You can find all the information about emergency preparedness on the Lithuanian Emergency Preparedness website at www.lt72.lt

You can find the list of shelters and instructions on how to access them here:
