A new President of the Student Representation was elected

During the report-election conference of the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Office (VDU SA) held on March 17, Eigirdas Sarkanas, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, was elected as the new President. The annual activity report of the former President Mindaugas Grigos was also presented, the Board of VDU SA, the Audit Commission were elected.

Since a quorum was not formed to directly elect the President of the VDU SA, he was elected by the VDU Student Parliament by secret ballot. The only candidate Eigirdas Sarkans collected 24 votes for, 4 against, 1 abstention. The new board was also elected: Arnoldas Chmelevskis, Nerijus Tamošiūnas, Vytautas Kučinskas, Ėuolas Mocevičius, Žygymantas Mituzas. The following were elected to the new Audit Commission: Gytis Perevičius, Gediminas Valaitis, Justė Elzbergaitė, Karolina Sakalauskytė, Vaidas Galinis.

The new VDU SA President shares his emotions: "I am extremely happy. I know that I have an excellent team with which we will definitely achieve our goals in order to improve the social and academic well-being of students." Eigird's team consists of Arnas Bendaravičius (Vice President), Greta Šmaižytė (coordinator of the academic affairs committee), Solveiga Skaisgirytė (coordinator of the social affairs committee) , Viktorija Šaulytė (coordinator of the culture committee), Arnoldas Borovskis (coordinator of the projects and international relations committee), Rūta Šerpytytė and Martynas Švarcas (coordinators of the public relations committee), Živilė Masytė (chief editor of the newspaper "Studis"), Laurynas Nikelis (human resources committee coordinator), Augustina Mišeikaitė (office administrator).

Paulius Baltokas, President of the Lithuanian Student Union, Mantas Simanavičius, Director of the Student Affairs Office of VDU, Juozas Augutis, Rector of VDU, representatives of other municipalities, VDU SA Alumni thanked the old President and congratulated the new one.
