The fifteenth "Spring Festival" has already started

On May 12, the most traditional academic student-run "Spring Festival" organized by Vytautas Magnus University's (VDU) Student Representation (SA) ended, which this year was also the representative event of the city of Kaunas. The festival combined entrepreneurship, social responsibility, academics-oriented, entertainment and sports events, and its slogan - "Even summer is jealous!" - was constantly heard throughout the city.

The festival was held for two days (May 11-12), during which not only VMU students, but also city residents or guests were invited to participate in various activities. The first day of the celebration began with the opening march with the Air Force Band. The procession started from Vilniaus st. (at the underpass) and continued all the way to Student Square. In the student square, festival participants were awaited by entertainment such as a book fair, a constantly active chill zone (where you could play various games and win great prizes or just relax and listen to good music), people were moved by dancing kenguros.lt, the entrepreneurial creative workshop (Lego Serious Play) organized by the Center for Business Practitioners of VDU took place. The basketball tournament also attracted a lot of attention, workshops (you could make temporary tattoos, make a kaleidoscope, felt ornaments, magic pendants. People had the opportunity to decorate their T-shirts or enjoy different types of tea). Students of VMU AJMD "Modusas" and VMU Faculty of Informatics also had their own corners and interested people in various experiments. Well, those interested in theater or cinema gathered for a lecture with Eimučius Kvosčiauskas, in which the actor talked about what the real face of a person on stage is like. Sports enthusiasts were invited to the "Bubble football" tournament. In the evening, there was a performance of "The Other Corner", which invited a full VDU Great Hall, and the day ended with a movie night, where films created by the university students themselves were shown.

The second day was certainly full of entertainment. Various social and academic actions and activities were active throughout the day, such as blood donation, "Nail the problem", discussion "Success story" (model Aušra Peka told her story), "Academic test" (during which people had the opportunity to check how well knows about the Lithuanian education system), viewing and discussion of the film "Philadelphia", debate with LSS vice-president Andrius Zaličius (topic: "Should we allow school graduates to enroll in higher education only after a 1-year break?"). Lectures with Mantas Bertulis and Ryčias Zemkauskas, Zumba dance lessons, and the original Quidditch tournament also attracted interest. And the closing concert ended the festival with a bang, during which the bands "Sirupas", "EGO", "Wolfsome" and, of course, "G&G Sindikatas" appeared on the stage. People who could not attend could watch the live broadcast on DELFI TV.

According to Rūta Šerpytytė, VDU SA's public relations representative, this year's festival perfectly matched its idea - it was socially responsible and truly the most academic student festival not only in Kaunas, but also in Lithuania. "For fifteen years now, we have been positioning the festival as the most academic, although we usually focused on entertainment events. This year, both the work of the organizing committee and the interest of people showed that students care about more than just entertainment," says Rūta. The main organizer of the festival, Viktorija Šaulytė, also shared her thoughts about the previous event: "This year, the Spring Festival, which became the representative event of the city of Kaunas, resounded with a bang. It was very good to see so many people actively participating in various activities, with smiles on their faces all the time. I'm glad that people liked our ideas, and they fully fulfilled them with their participation. I think I can safely say that it was one of the best festivals in all 15 years!”

We invite you to evaluate the festival here.

What's more, in each of A. Guoga's answers to the most diverse questions, it was noticeable what...
