Greeting of the President of VDU SA on the occasion of September 1st
Dear rector, deans, teachers, guests and of course, colleagues and friends students!
Here is the dawn of the 1st day of September, when each of us turns a new page in the book of life. Although this year the Science and Knowledge Festival is not the same as we are used to, it is still great fun to see you gathered to celebrate it.
This holiday symbolizes a new stage, which we enter with a little fear, uncertainty, but full of enthusiasm, new goals and ideas. As we begin this new journey, which will be much different this year, I want to hope and wish that despite the raging virus, we will be able to create an environment where, whether in the audience or at a distance, we will all be able to feel part of the VMU academic community.
However, you don't want to only talk about negative things. I would like to wish you to be ambitious, not to be afraid to make mistakes, because this period is meant for you to find your way, your goals. Don't be afraid to accept new challenges that will gradually shape your outlook, perception and thinking.
So, colleagues, friends, it's time to dive into the new school year, during which I believe we will create endless memories. However, as you move forward, don't forget to always look over your shoulder and look at how much you've grown, how much you've experienced together, how much you've accomplished, and looking back at the new path with great envy, march towards your dreams.
