Members of the VMU Student Representation deepened their knowledge in committee trainings

During the weekends of November, the members of the Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) Student Representation gathered at the homestead of Česlov Milos, where trainings aimed at deepening knowledge and improving competences took place. These trainings, held every year, benefit both new and old members. Volunteers of the organization acquire information related to the activities of the committees and acquire new knowledge that can be used in further activities when working and representing students.

Members of the Public Relations and Organizational Affairs Committees gathered for the first training. The members themselves were happy to be able to spend their time usefully and gain knowledge from professionals in their field. During the training, we talked about writing applications, project management, in-depth knowledge of social networks, text writing and layout topics. Also, the acquired knowledge was used in practice to generate ideas For community Christmas.

During the second training, members of the Social and Academic Affairs Committees deepened their knowledge. On the first day, members of VDU SA, together with Andrius Zaličius, talked about the social dimension and the Bologna process. Teamwork skills were also improved with Kotryna Rajeckaite, a member of the Human Resources Committee. On the second day, Joana Jasionytė, Head of Social and Academic Affairs of the Lithuanian Students' Union, spoke about examining and writing university documents and how various situations should be resolved.

"I am happy to be able to organize live training. Also, it's great that this year the social and academic areas were combined into one training, so the members of both committees could gain more diverse experience and knowledge," said Emilija Drabužinskaitė, coordinator of the Social Affairs Committee, when asked about the training.

During the last training, members of the Marketing and Advertising Committee talked about finding sponsors and how to communicate with them. And the members of the Human Resources Committee discussed the cultivation of the internal microclimate. The coordinator of the latter committee, Ieva Ožiūnaitė, is happy with the smoothly passed training, the opportunity to strengthen as a team, and believes that the committee's activities will be even more effective in the future.

"Milos training takes place every year, it is the beginning of a training cycle in which the members of the organization deepen their knowledge in the activities of VDU SA, learn how to properly help and represent students in social and academic matters. In these trainings, basic knowledge is learned and/or remembered, which is necessary for student representation and the necessary competences are acquired to continue activities in the organization in a high-quality way," said Joana Gasiulytė, coordinator of the Organizational Affairs Committee, about the trainings.

Intensive and full of new knowledge November weekends provided new knowledge to the volunteers of the organization. It made it possible to get to know better both the activities of the organization and individual committees, as well as each other. VDU SA members are looking forward to applying the acquired knowledge and experience in further work.
