An evening to get to know students from abroad: about emerging issues, studies and favorite dishes
February on the 25th The Student Representative Office of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU SA) invited students from abroad to a virtual meeting evening "Hello from VMU SC". During it, the activities of VMU SA, the Student Parliament were presented, students were introduced to the most important information about studies and their environment. The participants of the event also had the opportunity to communicate with each other and share their problems and impressions about studying at VMU.
The members of the Social Affairs Committee who organized the event sought to create a closer relationship with students from abroad, answer their questions and talk about what is relevant and important. The participants of the evening shared interesting facts about themselves, made new acquaintances and said that they are looking forward to meeting in person as soon as the quarantine ends.
"The majority mentioned that they really like eating kebabs, so we agreed that after the quarantine we will look for the tastiest kebabs in Kaunas and taste them together," says Gustė Žukauskaitė, one of the organizers of the event. She is also glad that everyone had the opportunity not only to have a good time, but also to share the problems they are facing: "We heard complaints about the culture in the dormitories and communication with the teachers, so we will try to solve them in the near future."
Shaurya Jaiswal, who helped organize the event, admitted that he is most fascinated by the university liberal arts ideas and free affiliate programs. Shaurya also opened up about his discovery in Lithuania: "My favorite dish is sloth. I definitely recommend other students to try it.”
It is planned that more initiatives will be organized in the future in order to create a connection with foreign students. However, if you encounter a problem or have questions, we invite you to contact VDU SA at any time using the following contacts:
