A one-part performance based on the most Lithuanian family history - Žemaitė's "Marti". The performance is the first part of this season's triptych based on the theme "Lost Lithuania or In Search Of An Identity". The idea of talking about identity (especially based on the characteristics of a nation) and its crisis, which arose both in the world when problems arising on the basis of nationality became more active (the press writes about them, which is the main source of inspiration for Teatron this time as well), and when a new stage of the theater troupe began - new permanent premises were obtained . And what's next?
This interpretation of Žemaitė's "Marčia" consists of kaleidoscopic images: articles, personal experiences of the creators, Žemaitė's work and additional literature. There are very few of the author herself left here - Žemaitė is just a source of inspiration, on the basis of which creators try to understand and discuss with the audience how a traditional Lithuanian, described in the public sphere, sees the world. In youthful language, the play asks questions: Why should you get married when you fall in love? Why do you need to fall in love? Where does our rurality lie? What is "masculinity/femininity" and does it need to be specifically distinguished? Who is our prince on a white horse? Maybe it just doesn't exist? Maybe everything is fine? Maybe we live well?
The director of the play is Gildas Aleksa
