Become a member of the VDU Student Parliament: an active voice in shaping the future of the university

Students who wish to represent the students of their academic department in the Student Parliament of Vytautas the Great University until October 21. At 11:59 p.m., an application for candidacy and a motivation letter must be submitted by e-mail to valdyba@vdusa.lt.

What is the VMU Student Parliament?


VMU Student Parliament is the highest governing body of students, which consists of all
representatives from academic departments elected by the students of the study levels. They are decided in the Parliament
problems raised by student representatives and issues relevant to students are discussed.
The most important positions of the organization (VDU SA) in higher education are considered and formed
and other issues, the VMU Student Parliament is elected or dismissed by secret ballot
chairman, VDU SA President, Board and Audit, discussed and approved by VDU SA
activity and financial reports and corrected or submitted new VDU SA documents.
The Student Parliament approves student representatives to the governing bodies of the university. All the chosen ones
with a majority vote of the members, the Student Parliament can demand a reconsideration by the university
decisions made by self-governing institutions on study issues.

How are the elections?


Each candidate is voted for by the students of his academic department, and for the representatives of doctoral students
– students of all doctoral fields. Student parliament elections are being organized
according to the decision of the VMU Student Parliament on October 1. approved at the last meeting
VDU Student Parliament provisional election 2024. order.


For each academic department, faculty or academy, (according to those studying in it
number) will be represented by the corresponding number of Members of Parliament:


Faculty of Economics and Management (EFF) - 7 representatives;
Faculty of Natural Sciences (GMF) - 4 representatives;
Faculty of Humanities (HMF) – 5 representatives;
Faculty of Informatics (IF) - 4 representatives;
Faculty of Catholic Theology (KTF) – 3 representatives; 
Faculty of Arts (MF) - 4 representatives;
Academy of Music (MA) – 3 representatives;
Faculty of Law (TF) – 4 representatives;
Faculty of Political Sciences and Diplomacy (PMDF) - 6 representatives;
Faculty of Social Sciences (SMF) - 7 representatives;
Education Academy (ŠA) – 11 representatives;
Academy of Agriculture (ŽŪA) – 9 representatives;
Doctoral students - 2 representatives.


Students who want to become members of the Student Parliament have until October 21. 23:59 email by post
valdyba@vdusa.lt sends the completed request and a free-form cover letter.
