VMU SA members participated in LSS GRAND training!

In May 2025, members of the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Council (VMU SA) actively participated in the GRAND training organized by the Lithuanian Students' Union (LSS), aimed at strengthening student representation competencies and deepening practical knowledge.

GRAND training – these are specialized trainings organized by LSS, designed to strengthen the competencies of student representatives in various fields. These trainings take place every year and focus on developing practical skills, expanding theoretical knowledge, cooperation and leadership in student governments.

This year, VMU SA members participated in in five trainings: GRAND Soc, GRAND Marketing, GRAND Akadem, GRAND ŽIK and GRAND RSV. During the training, they delved into theoretical aspects, participated in practical sessions, analyzed real situations, and discussed student challenges.

One of the participants, Arnas, who participated GRAND Marketing, said: „"I came to the training with high expectations to hear new information that would help me continue working in the marketing field. I left with knowledge about public speaking and ways to improve my competencies. The most memorable part was the presentations – it was fun to make fun of each other."“

Meanwhile, Karolina, who participated GRAND ŽIK training, emphasized that the most important thing for her was the sense of community: „"It was a new experience, full of knowledge, meaningful discussions, and inspiring lecturers. I especially remembered the feeling when representatives of different municipalities united for a common goal - a place where learning turned into motivation to act, strengthen the community, and grow as a person."“

In addition to knowledge and skills, The training provided an opportunity to make new connections with representatives of other higher education institutions, share experiences, discuss current student problems and seek common solutions. Such contacts create a long-term basis for cooperation between institutions and strengthen student representation nationwide.
