EUA international expert group will visit VMU

On April 7-9, an international expert group from the European University Association (EUA) will visit VMU and hold meetings at their selected faculties of the university – Economics and Management, Natural Sciences, Humanities and Law. These meetings are part of VMU's voluntary participation in the external institutional performance evaluation.

During the visit, EUA experts will meet not only with representatives of VMU faculties, but also with the rector, vice-rectors, heads of centers, etc. Members of the visiting expert group: chairman Lothar Zechlin, Christina Ullenius, Hans Beunderman, Annakaisa Tikkinen, coordinator Christina Rozsnyai and observer Caty Duykaerts from the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (AEQES).

In preparation for the expert visit, on March 7, Vytautas Magnus University submitted an analytical and comprehensive self-evaluation report to the EUA, which was prepared by uniting the experience and efforts of the entire university community and using the insights of stakeholders. The self-evaluation process provided an opportunity to critically evaluate VMU’s activities and encouraged further quality improvement and strategic development. VMU constantly applies EUA’s institutional evaluation practices in its activities.

VMU was granted accreditation by the European University Association in 2005 – at that time it was the first Lithuanian university to become a member of this association.
