VDU lit the Christmas tree
On Tuesday, December 3, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony of the Vytautas Magnus University community took place in the square near the VDU central palace (28 S. Daukant Street). During the event, various social actions began, those gathered shared feasts and a warm festive mood.
The theme of the celebration this year is "25th VDU Christmas". VMU vice-rector of studies Assoc. Kęstutis Šidlauskas and President of the Students' Representation Justinas Petkus.
This year, the VDU community is also invited to contribute to social actions. During the lighting ceremony, the Academic Youth Scientific Society "Modusas" organized "Ecological Christmas" and invited to learn how to make ecological Christmas tree toys, and "ELSA VDU" called for donations of toys, stationery, gloves and other cute and necessary items for children. The participants of the "Send a Christmas card" campaign could write wishes to residents of old people's or children's homes and other lonely people.
After the lighting of the tree, everyone gathered in the lobby of the great hall - on the first floor of the building, musicians were playing near the big Christmas tree, and on the second floor, tables with various meals were waiting. There is also a space for taking pictures, where guests could capture themselves in a Christmas photo in an environment decorated with various decorations.
