The first poker tournament in the "Taikos" dormitory

On November 26, the first poker tournament was organized in the "Taika" dormitory. Anyone who wanted to could try their luck, because the event was free. As many as 18 gambling enthusiasts participated in the tournament, of which two girls also tried their luck. The tournament was professional, because the rising bets, the number of chips and the number of participants were constantly updated on the TV screen using a special program.

The lobby of the 5th floor of the dormitory had changed beyond recognition: there were two tables around which gamblers gathered. A warm atmosphere prevailed, participants kept laughing at bad decisions and rejoicing at good ones. Participants could not choose their seats, they found out by drawing lots. During the evening, a „Lucky seat“ was drawn – the owner of the drawn seat won an additional prize.

Laurynas Nikelis, the newly elected chairman of "Taika" and one of the organizers, says: "The idea was born very unexpectedly: one evening with blocky We played poker in our room, where our bets were two packets of instant coffee. We thought that there would definitely be more fans of this game in the dormitory. We looked into how poker tournaments are organized, put everything in place and announced registration. We did not expect such activity, but 16 participants registered that same evening. I am very happy with the success of this tournament. After the event, I heard a lot of good feedback, the players were satisfied, regardless of whether they won or not. I am glad that the Student Representative Council agreed to cooperate and provided really great prizes. I promise that this will not be the last „Peace“ tournament.“

The student representative office presented the winners of the game with T-shirts, functional training coupons, „Entry“ club billiard coupons, and the main prize was an extra large „Paollo“ pizza. The tournament was won by freshman Donatas Kasiliauskas.
