"Balanced Fux" teaches and connects freshmen

Every year in September, more than four hundred VDU freshmen go on an unforgettable trip, where the "Balanced Fux" camp awaits them at the end of the route. The University Student Representation, which organizes the two-day transformation of "freshmen" into full-fledged university students, promises: "It will be the best weekend of your life." And after a couple of days, this is confirmed by the smiles and shining eyes of the participants returning from the camp.

Have you become a VMU student? Start studying now!

Have you heard what a fux camp is? Yes? It's cool, now you have a great opportunity to make sure if the stories correspond to reality, or if it really is as fun here as others say. Didn't you hear? Even cooler! You will be able to participate here without prejudices and later tell about the best weekend!

The VMU Student Representation team invites all "fuxus" to fill out the "Balanced fuxus" camp form. This is a great opportunity to properly start the student year and spend an unforgettable weekend together! We promise that there will be no christening here and we will only use eggs and flour for cooking!! Our camp is designed to get to know new people, learn to work in teams, get to know the Rector of VMU, who will come to welcome you, and of course get to know student parties, which often last until the morning!

When? Where? How?

The camps will be held over two weekends - on September 6-7 and 13-14 (participating in only one). We invite you to register during the signing of contracts at the student representative stand (you will definitely recognize it). So all you have to do is not be afraid and come to us, and we will take care of everything else!

Don't miss the opportunity to start student life with a cool company!

You can fill out the form at the time of signing the contract with the university or electronically. Send the completed form to infovdusa@gmail.com by August 9.

 Freshmen see only the pluses

"The atmosphere of the camp is amazing. I was most surprised by the people gathered - everyone happy about the university, full of ideas and hopes that everyone will have fun," Gabrielė tells of her first impression. - I met a lot of new people, some of whom I can confidently consider Friends with a capital letter."

"Some tasks were fun and creative, others tested your endurance and physical condition, but the evening part of the camp "took the roof off everyone," Greta says about the camp activities. - It was a real fairy tale to sit by a huge bonfire and sing songs in a large group of people. After all the competition and the desire to be better than others, the freshmen unite and become one "fist". I think everyone on the way home felt that bitterness of sadness at the end of a wonderful adventure."

"And I will probably never be able to participate in such a camp again," regrets Paulius, asserting that the time spent here was memorable for a long time.

Not intended to mock

Who is the "Balanced fux" camp for?

"If you are a freshman, if you have just opened the doors of the university, if you have not yet found good friends, if you have not yet been involved in breathtaking organizational activities, if you do not yet know the structure of the university, the organization that represents you at the university, and the university leaders - come, find out, see and hear." - the idea of the camp is summed up by Aidas, who was the leader of the group for three years in a row at the "Balanced Fux".

He is complemented by Mangirdas, who had the honor of being the leader twice: "The goal of the camp is quite simple - to give a kick in the ass to those who do not decide to start doing something more in their lives than studies and parties." especially those who have come to study from other cities, they feel much more fun and cozy at the university if they see familiar faces.

Jurgita also dispels the myths about the camp and fears spreading among freshmen, for whom becoming a leader is one of the best events in her life: "This camp does not aim to mock or make fun of freshmen by humiliating them, dirtying their clothes or torturing them in any other way. All games and tasks are fun and focused on team building, getting to know each other and having a good time."

From "freshmen" to managers

All three interviewees became leaders of freshman groups in order to participate in the "Balanced Fux" camp once again, to feel that magical atmosphere and to pass on to the freshmen the experience gained a year or two ago when they were "fux" at the same camp.

They agree that "balancing" freshmen is a real pleasure. "It's nice to see how, at the beginning, they were afraid to say a word to each other, but two days later, lying on the grass, they are already planning the next meeting," smiles Mangirdas. - "This is an invaluable experience - the opportunity to create a whole organism - a team from strangers."

"The first time I participated in the camp, I was very surprised, because almost all of my group consisted of students from different specialties," recalls Aidas. - "Only later did I understand that the philosophy of the university itself is based on this - we are all different, we are all interesting and unique in our own way. We can learn a lot from each other. It makes me richer than any Balanced Fux camp.”

Jurgita names the opportunity to get to know freshmen as the biggest advantages of being a leader - to help them understand the order and mission of the university, to disprove frightening myths, and to encourage them to share their opinion about the university. "Happy, full of excitement eyes of freshmen and the desire of some of them to contribute to the activities of the Students' Representative Office that organized the camp," - the girl names the benefits for herself and the entire organization.

The most memorable is "Laurentija"

When I ask about the most memorable moments at the camp, I hear stories full of laughter about the "hospitality" of the local children and the hail of apples, the impressive performance of the leaders in the evening program, songs by the campfire and the "combing forest" of the united campers, when someone lost his mobile phone. The stories and experiences of the guests - Rector or Alumni members who have graduated from the university - also give food for thought.

However, both freshmen and managers, when naming their most vivid memories, always mention the mysterious "Laurencia".

“What is this?” I ask.

"It's a magical name that every student who's been to the Balanced Fux camp knows," Echo explains. - "Laurentija really "balances" everyone. Do you want to meet? You will have to come to the camp!”
