The Student Parliament elected the new president of VMU SA
On March 14, the annual reporting - election conference of the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Office (VDU SA) took place. During it, the updated statutes of the organization were approved, SA's annual activity and financial reports were presented, and the new SA president, Paulius Vaitiekus, was elected.
President Greta Šmaižytė, who completed her second term, presented the goals set and the work done during the last year: organized trainings, activities in the Lithuanian Student Union (LSS), meetings with the administration and consolidation with the Aleksandars Stulginskis and Lithuanian Universities of Education. A financial report was also presented during the conference.
This year, the only candidate who showed his desire to participate in the presidential elections, a fourth-year biotechnology student, Paulius Vaitiekus, set the main goals of his activity: strengthening the connection between students and the organization, creating a stable and strong organization that will ensure targeted and high-quality representation of student interests and effective problem solving .
"Thank you for trusting me and I really hope that we will all contribute to the changes in the representation together", said Paulius Vaitiekus, the new president of VDU SA, when he learned the results of the parliamentary vote.
"The university and the academic community are always moving forward, so when I hand over the students to you, I want to wish you to increase what has been created at the university" - VMU Rector Juozas Augutis ended the inauguration with a wish.
Representatives of VMU Academy of Agriculture and Education, Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuanian Sports University and Kaunas College self-government, VMU administration, representatives of the Lithuanian Students' Union (LSS) also participated in the conference.
The Board and Audit Commission were also elected during the conference. The board will consist of Greta Šmaižytė, Dominyka Kurklietytė, Martynas Vitkus and Lina Stumbrytė, the audit – Vytautas Kučinskas, Tadas Žiogas and Vaida Eirošiūtė.
