On Monday, September 30, a unique basketball celebration will take place at the Zalgiris Arena. Basketball fans who have been waiting for the new season will be able to see not only the duel between Kaunas Zalgiris and Kazan Unics, but also an impressive presentation of the Lithuanian champions. During the show that will take place before the match, the values that have led the team to victories throughout the season will be solemnly handed over to the Zalgiris players.

Fans coming to the Žalgiris Arena will have the opportunity to watch the Žalgiris team's matches live for the first time as they prepare for the 2013-2014 season. The team will already have players returning from the Lithuanian men's basketball team, so this will be a unique opportunity to see the full Kaunas Žalgiris team.

Zalgiris' rival, Kazan's Unics, also made a summer of spending sprees and strengthened its roster with former Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers players. The team, led by Chuck Eidson and Kostas Kaimakoglou, was joined by NBA veterans Andrew Goudelock, Luke Harangody, and one of the leaders of the Greek national team, Nikos Zisis.

Pre-season matches are not included in the annual Žalgiris season ticket, but fans of the Lithuanian champions should not be upset - ticket prices for the season opening match are extremely low: from 10 to 35 LTL.
