The freshman camp is the best event to start your studies
On September 19-20, the traditional first-year camp "Balanced Fuksas" organized by the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Office (VDU SA) took place.
After the introductory week at the university, freshmen had the opportunity to spend their first student weekend in a different, informal environment. At the camp held in the Vievio district, the first-year students got to know the structure of VDU, the student movement and new university friends, and listened to the lectures of VDU SA alumni and students from abroad.
"I really liked this camp, all the people who were there and the activities," said Sociology and Anthropology freshman Irmina Švedaitė. - I was surprised by the hike, which required a lot of strength, and the fact that so many different people can work and communicate in a team. It seems to me that this was the best event that could have happened at the beginning of my studies."
The camp started with familiarization games, team building tasks and various group discussions. In the evening, the "Survival" simulation took place, during which the first-year students had to demonstrate what they had learned during the day: the tribes of the "Survival" island competed with each other, performing tasks invented by the island's elders, participated in an auction and performed tribal performances, thus proving the superiority of their tribe.
"I was most impressed by the organization of the event and the activities," said Martynas Bereiša, a freshman in Public Communication. - I felt that it was taken into account that we are all different and not equally courageous to express ourselves in the environment of strangers. But I think everyone fuchs had a great time. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most memorable events I have ever attended."
After the emotions have subsided after the "Balanced Fuks" camp, we invite freshmen (and not only) to come to the VDU SA committee fair, during which the activities of the committees will be presented, for which it will be possible to register. The fair will be held on September 24. (Thursday), in the foyer of the VDU Great Hall.
