Take a breath, sink in and… come back!

As the weather becomes more and more autumnal, many people wander in their thoughts into their own separate world. Feeling cold hands, shivering in the body more and more often, needing an umbrella that not everyone forgets to take, it's so good to think about a lot and to leave reality for a minute. Like being here at the same time, but also somewhere far away. These three men, who willingly shared what was on their minds, were no exception. I hope that the thoughts you read will allow you to dive into the depths of conversations with yourself, and so you will experience a kind of inner peace.

Lina walks with you:

I once visited the Indians in the islands of the Caribbean Sea. I migrated from one island to another for several weeks until I found myself on the tiny island of Dog, which you can walk around in just 2 minutes. There lived an old man and a grandmother who didn't even know how old they were. They did not understand either English or Lithuanian, but our communication was about thoughts and intentions. We understood each other without words.

So on that Isle of Dog I used to walk around the shore and talk to myself with my thoughts. Sometimes quietly, sometimes loudly. Walking around the islet about twenty times and thinking out loud, questioning yourself is there cruelly it's interesting, because I don't know how and from where the answers are born so unrealistic that you surprise yourself.

Happy birthday, Lina! How are you, Lin? What do you wish for?

My birthday just happened, so I filmed myself with a camera in my hands selfie greetings and a few questions that I answered myself. When the old man saw that I was emphasizing my birthday and congratulating myself, he smiled and waved his hand and went to chop his oar with an ax. Later he succinctly told me that birthdays are nonsense. And he added that he doesn't know how old he is, and because of that he feels much better than if he did.

Would it be good not to know your birthday?

I asked myself and realized that would be complete nonsense. What about gifts from friends? After all, I love my birthday not because I'm getting a year older, but because I care about someone and I get gifts. Maybe someday I'll want to not know how old I am, but I must remember when my birthday is.

And why does the sky look like a huge hood?

I asked myself again looking at cruelly starry sky Because when you are in the middle of the sea and you see the water line around you, you realize that if you draw the water horizon with your finger, you would get a perfect circle, in the center of which you stand, look at the very top of the sky and realize that the sky is a round dome. And I would add that the hood is very nice. Hmm… it's quite fun talking to myself.

And is it possible to argue with yourself?

Of course, because when you contradict your thoughts, it means you are thinking and making the right answer. Yes, there are times when you look around and wonder if anyone can see you when you're talking to yourself and usually pretend you're not talking. But here, on the small island of Dog, you can confidently talk to yourself with your voice and get such wonderful answers to your questions from the sound of the waves. And there is no question whether someone sees you or not. Very fun and interesting. Although a stereotypical person would say - that's it, the screw has turned, but I despise stereotyping and sometimes myself when I think like that.

Do I like people who talk to themselves?

Of course it does! They are the most amazing seekers and dreamers. And I myself like and envy myself, I love the world because I am a significant part of it. And sometimes I become a completely insignificant part of it and then again, at least in my mind, I ask myself the question, what am I doing here? I stand instead? Am I going ahead? Hmm… moving forward is more fun than standing still. So, Lin, let's go one more lap around the island.

Good luck lovelies and don't be afraid to talk to yourself!

Do you ask yourself enough questions? Or do you settle for what you know?

I always ask questions about everything because the dumbest questions are "questions not asked"!

If you could do everything all over again, would you change anything?

I wouldn't change a thing about how my life has turned out because it made me who I am today!

If you had a friend who talked to you the same way you talk to yourself, how long would this friendship last?

I would answer that it would last an eternity because I am my best friend first; I motivate myself and criticize myself to be even better tomorrow. So if another exhibits the same attributes then we have a lot in common!

Time or Money?

I would choose time, because tomorrow is never promised and there is not enough time in one day to do everything I want to do!

Am I the happiest person in the world?

Absolutely yes! Sometimes I think that there are two options - either someone from above loves me very much, or they are carefully preparing some kind of test. Everything is going well for me: I'm healthy, I have both arms and legs, I can see and hear everything, I'm with the most wonderful girl, I'm doing a job I love, I'm living a quality life where I don't lack for anything. The best part of all is that I can afford to choose what I want to work on and what I don't. How much I want to work and how much to rest. Considering I've been living apart from my parents for years, these are big things.

All this gives a lot of confidence. Even more, self-doubt. When you are successful, nothing can derail you. I know there are many people who would trade lives with me without much thought. Sometimes it's even hard to believe that the happiest person in the world is me.

Which years would I single out as the best?

Every year the answer is the same - this year is the best for me. When 2013 seemed like it couldn't get any better, 2014 came and it was at least twice as good. I'm not only talking about money matters, but also about love, variety of jobs, people you meet and dreams coming true.

For example, when I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a television commentator one fine day. What do you think? This year I managed to comment on the Olympic Games in Sochi, and in the upcoming season I will comment on all the basketball matches of "Lietuvos ryto" television.

Which habits would I like or should I implement?

Sometimes I think it would be very good if I always wrote everything down. Of course, sometimes I try to write down the agenda or important dates in the calendar, but the habit of running, rushing and remembering everything late is a bit annoying.

It would also not be a bad idea to consume less beer, smoke twice as many cigarettes and find time for your significant other more often.

Maybe not only for her, but also for yourself. I'll say it without any hesitation - I don't remember when I had time to turn over in bed or do nothing all day. Not even on weekends. I think it's my own fault. As I mentioned before, you work as much as you want to work. So I don't need rest yet.

What are my core values?

The most important and mandatory feature of every human being is the need to never forget that you are only human. The minute you forget that, you become a piece of rag.

I love people very much. I don't envy anyone and I don't feel sorry for anyone. I can be your best friend. If a person respects me, I will respect him twice.

Sorry, but I might be the most disgusting person you've ever met. This will happen immediately after you act dishonorably or forget that you are only human. I wish everyone humanity!

And it doesn't matter at all, you are a girl or a boy, each of us thinks and talks to ourselves. It's a really natural thing, but we don't always want to share it with others. On the other hand, revealing a part of the real Self, a part of inner thoughts is not only interesting, but also gives a kind of mystery. So, don't forget to remember yourself and give your thoughts a very meaningful place in your agenda in between endless tasks and cold autumn weather!
