On September 14, the center of Kaunas will be flooded with the hustle and bustle of the "Green League" street basketball tournament

The exciting event will be held for the first time, and not for nothing in the Temporary Capital – the organizers are convinced that Kaunas is the heart of Lithuania, beating to the rhythm of basketball.

"We are glad that basketball is alive in the hearts of Lithuanians and, especially for Kaunas residents, has become a second religion. Events such as the "Green League" are a great proof of this and an incentive for everyone to discover their hidden talent," says A. Sabonis, head of the main event partner, "Sabonis Basketball Center."

The city will be filled with cheers and applause from fans for everyone who is determined to break the Saturday routine by testing their strength on the basketball court. The most adventurous players will have the opportunity to compete in as many as six different leagues – schoolchildren (12-18 years old), students (19-29 years old), organizations and companies, families, and a unified open women's and unified open men  leagues. Of course, players will not only have a great time, but the best basketball players will also receive various valuable awards that will definitely be worth fighting for.

The most active participants of the event, who want to demonstrate their strength individually, will also have a great choice - the "Green League" is preparing interesting basketball relays in several categories. They will be able to take home the prestigious awards of "Most Accurate Skirt", "Three-Point King", "Most Accurate Trio", "Most Accurate Free Throw" or "Basketball Future".

The heart of the city, heated by basketball euphoria, will be supplemented by a rich entertainment part of the “Green League” event. Everyone will find something to do – they will be able to watch improvised performances by professional street dancers, see how graffiti and paintings are created, and leave their palm print on a large poster at the event site. As befits a sports event, the “Green League” will offer to test their hand accuracy in darts competitions, play table football, participate in a chess tournament, and at the “Healthy Lifestyle Point” they will invite you to ask about healthy nutrition, sports, exercise, and other health-improving activities.

Participants will also be able to do good work by helping to find homes for homeless animals, learn about the Kaunas Union of Youth Organizations "Apskritas stalas". Kaunas DJs will provide a great musical atmosphere throughout the day.
