Vytautas the Great University Statute announces that the university, according to the procedure established by the University Council, supports the Student Representation and other student organizations, allocates premises and funds to finance their activities, as well as allocates funds for cultural, sports and social activities of students. Pursuant to this provision of the Statute, VMU provides targeted support to student organizations aimed at promoting and fostering student initiatives and activities that expand cooperation and the potential of human resources, create or develop scientific, artistic, study organization, cultural, social, sports, civic and other initiatives , thus making the name of the university famous.

Only university student organizations can apply for university support, i.e. university organizations which, according to The procedure established by the legalization of Vytautas Magnus University organizations and the description of their activities, have acquired the status of a university organization, and at least two-thirds of their actual members are persons with the status of students at the university.

The support provided by the University to support student organizations of the University in each financial year is foreseen in the University's annual budget plan, these funds are managed Aid Boards of Student University Organizations and awarded through a competition for project applications, taking into account the annual Resolution of the Board of Student Organizations Šalpa regarding the determination of project tender terms, priorities and special requirements.

  1. Creating a socially responsible university
  2. Promotion of internationality
  3. Initiating activities related to science, art and studies
  4. Maintaining and developing relationships with members of the university community
  5. Coordination of activities related to student interests and their representation.

Liberal arts - this is the idea of a university of liberal arts that unites members of the VMU community. The university additionally encourages and supports the actualization of this idea in all the priority areas of the organization's project application competition - through project activities focused on emphasizing the importance of broad interdisciplinary education, critical thinking, the ability to freely express thoughts and debate, immediate student-teacher relationship, lifelong learning, encouraged and supported.

in 2015 Terms and conditions for submitting applications for the main project competition:

  • original applications for the project competition can be submitted by student organizations and the specified e-mail addresses. send document versions by e-mail by post info@srt.vdu.lt until 2015 January 30 (inclusive) of the end of the working day or send original project applications by registered mail with a postmark showing that the application was sent before 2015. January 30 (inclusive), at the following address: Vytautas Magnus University Student Affairs Service, S. Daukanto str. 27–212, LT-44249 Kaunas;
    • applications and documents sent after the specified date, or an original project application sent with a postmark indicating that it was sent after January 30, will not be accepted and evaluated;
  • the activities indicated in the project application can be implemented in the period from 2015. March 1 until 2015 December 15;
  • the organization cannot submit more than 3 project applications to one priority area of activity;
  • when submitting projects to I, II, III, IV priority line of activity, it is not possible to submit to V priority line of activity and vice versa;
  • the same person cannot be designated as the project manager in more than 3 projects;
  • the maximum amount of support requested from the university for one project when submitting projects to I, II, III, IV priority direction of activity must not exceed the limit of 6905.60 LTL (2000 euros).

Billing for project implementation

After implementing the project (but no later than December 15 of the current year), the organization must account for the use of funds allocated by the University for the implementation of project activities. This is done by filling Project implementation report (invoices for purchases made from the support funds allocated by the University related to the project implementation activities, written and visual materials related to the project, lists of project executors and project participants and other relevant information are attached to the report) and when delivering it to the Student Affairs Office (S. Daukanta str. 27-212) and by sending the electronic version of the report (Word document) by e-mail info@srt.vdu.lt.
