The beginning of the VMU academic year

The traditional celebration of the beginning of the academic year at VDU will take place on September 2 (Monday), but students will start bustling in the university corridors already on August 26. First-year undergraduates will participate "Introduction to studies at VMU" events, and lectures on group C (special) subjects will be held for senior year students and master's students.

For more detailed information on this week's lecture times, please follow faculty information on the FirstClass intranet system. The "Introduction to studies VMU" program is published on the website www.vdu.lt/ivadas2013/.

Although most of the events of the introductory week are intended for freshmen, the program will also include events interesting for the entire VMU academic community. These are discussions, lectures, parties, live broadcasts of basketball matches:

There will be no lectures on September 2. The entire VDU academic community is invited to participate in the traditional celebration and welcome the jubilee - the 25th - academic year of the restored Vytautas the Great University.

Celebration of the beginning of the school year 

September 2 (Monday)

12 o'clock St. Mass Kaunas St. In the Basilica of the Archcathedral of the Apostles Peter and Paul (Vilniaus St. 1).

1-1:30 p.m. Festive meetings of freshmen in faculties.

at 2 p.m. Group photo and traditional procession. Members of the VDU community are invited to gather at the monument of Vytautas the Great (next to the Kaunas City Municipality, Laisvės al. 96) and take a picture together. After the fun photo session, there will be a greeting from the mayor and a solemn procession of students, teachers and employees from the Vytautas Didios monument to the VDU's main hall with the Kaunas wind instrument orchestra "Ėuolynas".

2:20 p.m. The celebration of the beginning of the academic year in the VDU's great hall (28 S. Daukanto St.). The program includes the traditional VDU first-year oath, greetings from the VDU rector and a big celebratory VDU September 1st cake!
