Pokyčiai VDU bendrabučiuose: ką reikia žinoti studentams?

VDU studentų bendruomenės laukia reikšmingi pokyčiai bendrabučių apgyvendinimo tvarkoje. Pokyčiai palies visus VDU studijuojančius Lietuvos studentus: tiek lietuvius, tiek tarptautinius studentus, o kai kuriais atvejais keisis ir sutarčių trukmė bei pratęsimo galimybės.

Stabdoma registracija į laisvas vietas

Nuo 2026 m. birželio 1-os (pirmadienio), bus uždaroma registracija į laisvas vietas bendrabučiuose. Studentai nebegalės registruotis į atsilaisvinusius kambarius nuo rugsėjo, kuomet sistema vėl bus atidaryta.

Dvejų metų sutartys pirmakursiams

VDU jau anksčiau priėmė sprendimą, kad pirmo kurso bakalauro ir magistrantūros studentams apgyvendinimo sutartys sudaromos dvejiems metams. Šiemet pirmakursiai studentai sulaukė priminimų apie būsimą sutarčių pabaigą, tačiau pasirašant sutartį terminas jau buvo nurodytas dvejiems metams.

Pasibaigus dvejų metų laikotarpiui:

* studentai galės gyventi bendrabutyje iki birželio pabaigos;

* liepos mėnesis skirtas išsikraustymui;

* į bendrabutį galės grįžti tik per laisvų vietų sistemą.

Sugrįžus per laisvų vietų sistemą, sutartis bus sudaroma vieneriems metams iki kitų metų birželio 30 d.

Erasmus

Taip pat numatyta, kad išvykstant Erasmus mainams vienam semestrui, apgyvendinimo sutartis bus nutraukiama, kad kambariai neliktų tušti.

Išimtys socialiai remtiniems studentams

Studentams iš socialiai jautrių grupių bus taikomos išimtys.

Tai apima:

* našlaičius;

* studentus iš daugiavaikių šeimų;

* studentus su negalia;

* socialiai remtinus studentus.

Šie studentai bus informuojami papildomai, o jų sutartys galės būti pratęsiamos dar vieneriems metams be būtinybės išsikraustyti.

Keičiant bendrabutį ar kambarį – trumpesnė sutartis

Studentams, kurie nuspręs persikelti į kitą bendrabutį ar kitą kambarį, nauja sutartis bus sudaroma vieneriems metams. Tačiau naujiems pirmakursiams pirmą semestrą bus leidžiama keisti kambarį už papildomą mokestį, tačiau sutarties trukmė išliks dveji metai.

Pokyčiai doktorantams

Numatoma, kad doktorantai bendrabučiuose nuolat nebegyvens. Jei doktorantas apsigyvens per laisvų vietų sistemą, sutartis galios tik iki birželio 30 d. ir daugiau nebus pratęsiama.

Magistrantams – papildomos sąlygos

Magistrantūros studentai, stojantys iš bakalauro studijų, bendrabutyje galės gyventi tik priklausydami socialiai remtinų studentų grupei. Tokiu atveju jiems bus sudaroma dvejų metų sutartis kaip pirmo kurso magistrantams.

Ne VDU studentų bendrabučiuose nebeapgyvendins

Naujų ne VDU studentų Kauno ir Vilniaus bendrabučiuose priimti neplanuojama. Tie, kurie jau gyvena bendrabučiuose, galės pasilikti tik įrodę, kad vis dar studijuoja.

Tarptautiniams studentams – panaši tvarka

Tarptautiniams studentams taip pat bus taikomos dvejų metų sutartys.

Pasibaigus šiam laikotarpiui:

* studentai turės išsikraustyti liepos mėnesį;

* rugpjūtį galės pretenduoti į laisvas vietas;

* naujos sutartys bus sudaromos vieneriems metams.

Išimtys bus taikomos:

* socialiai remtiniems studentams;

* studentams iš Ukrainos.

Individualūs atvejai bus sprendžiami atskirai Studentai, kurie dėl asmeninių ar kitų svarbių aplinkybių negali išsikraustyti iš bendrabučio, kviečiami kreiptis į Studentų centrą. Tokios situacijos bus vertinamos individualiai.

Changes to VDU Dormitories: What Do Students Need to Know?

Significant changes to the dormitory accommodation policy are coming for the VDU student community. The changes will affect all Lithuanian students studying at VDU: both Lithuanian and international students, and in some cases, the duration of contracts and renewal options will also change.

Registration for available spots is suspended

SStarting Monday, June 1, 2026, registration for available spots in dormitories will be closed. Students will no longer be able to register for vacant rooms. Registration will reopen in September.

Two-year contracts for first-year students

VDU had previously decided that housing contracts for first-year undergraduate and graduate students would be for two years. This year, first-year students received reminders about the upcoming expiration of their contracts, but the term had already been set for two years when the contract was signed.

At the end of the two-year period:

* students will be able to live in the dormitory until the end of June;

* they will have to move out in July;

* they will only be able to return to the dormitory through the vacancy system. If you return through the vacancy system, the contract will be valid for one year, until June 30 of the following year.

Erasmus

It is also stipulated that if you leave for an Erasmus exchange for one semester, the housing contract will be terminated so that the rooms do not remain vacant.

Exceptions for Students in Need of Social Support

Exceptions will apply to students from socially vulnerable groups.

This includes:

* orphans;

* students from large families;

* students with disabilities;

* students in need of social support.

These students will be notified separately, and their contracts may be extended for another year without the need to move out.

Shorter contract when changing dorms or rooms for students who decide to move to a different dormitory or room, a new contract will be signed for one year. However, new first-year students will be allowed to change rooms during their first semester for an additional fee, but the contract duration will remain two years.

Changes for Doctoral Students

It is anticipated that doctoral students will no longer be able to live in dormitories on a permanent basis. If a doctoral student secures housing through the vacancy system, the contract will be valid only until June 30 and will not be extended.

Additional Conditions for Master’s Students

Master’s students entering from a bachelor’s program will only be able to live in a dormitory if they belong to the group of students eligible for financial aid. In such cases, they will be offered a two-year contract as first-year master’s students.

Non-VDU students will no longer be accommodated in dormitories There are no plans to accept new non-VDU students into the Kaunas and Vilnius dormitories. Those who are already living in the dormitories will be able to stay only if they prove that they are still enrolled in a program. Similar rules for international students International students will also be subject to two-year contracts. Upon expiration of this period:

* students will have to move out in July;

* in August, they will be eligible to apply for available spots;

* new contracts will be signed for one year.

Exceptions will apply to:

* students receiving financial aid;

* students from Ukraine.

Individual cases will be handled on a case-by-case basis Students who, due to personal or other significant circumstances, are unable to move out of the dormitory are invited to contact the Student Center. Such situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
