Freshman camp "Balanced fuksas": a memorable start in university life

The "Balanced fuksas" camp, which took place from August 31 to September 1, gathered freshmen for an unforgettable weekend, full of new acquaintances and discoveries of university life.

The annual freshman camp "Subalansuotas fuksas" organized by the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Office is not only a tradition, but also a special event that brings together many enthusiastic students who are looking forward to starting their journey at the university together with new friends. This camp, which takes place from August 31 to September 1, has become the most important weekend for many, allowing them to get to know the university better, immerse themselves in student life, and make connections with fellow students and older students.

This year's camp welcomed the students with the theme of "(Un)real reality show". On the set, participants could not only observe the process of creating a "reality show", but also become a part of it themselves. The first day was full of cheerful activities and games that encouraged mutual acquaintance and improvement of teamwork skills. Participants shared valuable tips on building connections with like-minded people, and during the evening program, all acquired skills were tested in a reality show simulation. It was a great opportunity not only to have fun, but also to overcome the challenges that arose together. "I liked that the VMU Student Representation does funks in a different way - the point is not to make fun, but to really get to know each other," Gustė, a participant of the camp, shared her impressions.

The second day was dedicated to personality development. Students participated in discussions, during which they heard more about the opportunities offered by Vytautas the Great University and the activities of the Student Representative Office. The activities organized by the "Alumni" organization also posed challenges: students were invited to test their fears, develop trust in others and "put themselves" in the hands of a friend. These activities encouraged to go beyond personal boundaries and to reflect more deeply on one's values. "I really liked Katryna's activities, I didn't expect that from the freshman camp. It was nice to be with your thoughts, to cry together," Gustė shared her memories. "It opened my eyes a little, made me think and realize something new," added another participant, Meda.

During the camp, the participants not only made new friendships, but also gained valuable personal insights and experiences. It was not a traditional "christening" of students, but a much more profound event, designed for each student to spend time meaningfully and take away the best memories at the beginning of their university journey.

The annual camp brings together students of various backgrounds and ambitions who take away something valuable from this weekend - new lessons and friends that often last a lifetime. The Student Council also welcomes inspiring new members who are eager to join the organization and want to contribute to the student movement. Several newly joined students shared the inspiring words of member Dom during the camp: "All the stars in the sky, visible at the homestead, represent the current community of VDU SA members and alumni, and the embers rising from the fire are you rising up and becoming part of this community." part."

Sponsors also contributed to the success of this memorable weekend: esports club "GG Arena", Elmenhorster, Rio sport arena, Jazz pizza & Grill, Fantazijos.lt, cinema "Cinamon", Birštonos mineral waters and "Formosa". Their support undoubtedly contributed to making the camp an unforgettable experience for the participants.
