One candidate expressed his desire to become the president of VDU SA
On March 14, the Student Parliament of Vytautas the Great University (VDU) will elect the President of the VDU Student Representation (SA). The request to run for this post was submitted by one candidate - Paulius Vaitiekus.
Paulius is a fourth-year student of the biotechnology study program. The candidate currently represents students in the University Senate, Dispute Resolution Commission, and is a member of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Council of the Botanical Garden. Paul also coordinates the SA Projects and International Relations Committee.
"I came to the Student Representation in the second year and I want to realize the knowledge and experience I have gained during that time as the President of VDU SA," says the candidate. - I believe that together with the team and members of the organization, we will be able to successfully implement the set goals and successfully represent the interests of students."
Paulius reveals that the involvement of students in the processes taking place at the university is very significant: "More than 11,000 students study at VMU and each of them comes to the university with different expectations and needs, so it is important that they are expressed." Only then will the Student Representation be able to look for solutions on how to create a favorable study environment".
In the candidate's opinion, it is also very important to ensure cooperation with the representatives of the students of the Academies of Agriculture and Education, because only united ideas will help to achieve the best result for the benefit of VMU students.
The President of VDU SA represents students in the Rector's Office, Council, Senate, Ethics and Disputes Commission, the Council of the Lithuanian Students' Union and various working groups that deal with issues affecting students' interests. He also convenes the meetings of the VMU Student Parliament and chairs them. The President of VDU SA is elected for a one-year term.
March 14 At 12 o'clock, the report-election conference of the VDU SA will be held in the VDU Great Hall (Gimnazijos St. 7, Kaunas). During it, the current SA President Greta Šmaižytė will present the annual activity and financial reports, the Student Parliament will elect a new VDU SA President, Board and Audit Commission.
