Student, be a student!

Approaching the last year, or even months, when they have to sit on the school benches, a rare student may become worried about future plans, which university is worth entering and which specialty to choose. Understanding this, the Student Representation of Vytautas the Great University calls on students to participate in a project that will help them decide!

"Students, become a student" is the seventh consecutive project organized by the Student Representative Office of Vytautas the Great University, which is intended for students from all over Lithuania. The project takes place for a week, during which students are encouraged to get to know not only the specialty they are interested in, but also student life.

The main goal of the project is to acquaint 10-12th grade students with the study programs they are most interested in, new people, teachers, students and the university itself, and of course to help them see student life from a closer look. Students will not only attend the lectures that interest them, but will also get to know the employees of various VMU services, heads of organizations and their activities, students from other Lithuanian cities and members of the Student Representation. The participants of the project will be given excursions not only around the university premises, but also around the city of Kaunas and other various entertainment. Throughout the week, the students will be looked after and communicated with by mentors appointed specifically for them, who will be happy to answer all questions of interest and help them not to get lost in the university spaces.

Students who participated in the "Student, be a student" project respond with great joy about this project and often call themselves part of this university after a year or so. For example, schoolgirl Vesta, who participated in the project, says: "I have only good words to say about the project!" The week spent at the university was very productive and useful and helped me decide both about the study program I wanted to study and about the university itself. The people participating in this project are very sincere and friendly, although not all lectures were equally interesting, but useful, during which I really learned a lot. The week I spent at VDU was a very good and life experience for me!". Another schoolgirl, Gabrielė, seconded Vestai: "This VDU project is one of the best experiences in my life. When I filled out the form, I did not expect that I would get into the project, but when I did, I was very happy, and certainly not in vain! It's just a shame that the week went by so quickly. However, I was impressed by the excellent work of the Student Representative Office, which provided a wonderful opportunity to get to know other schoolchildren and students and to fall in love with VMU during the week. I have no doubt that I will use the experience gained here in the future."

The further you go, the more important this project becomes. This provides an opportunity for students who participated in the project and are applying to Vytautas the Great University to receive an additional 0.5 points to the total competitive score by applying for a place not financed by the state (vnf) outside the LAMABPO system.

This week of "Students become a student" is the last this year, but students will have the opportunity to participate in the project in the spring as well!
