Discussions of European citizens in Vilnius

On December 13, 2013, a discussion with Vice-President of the European Commission Viviane Reding will take place at Vilnius City Hall. Everyone is invited to discuss European citizens' rights, Europe's response to the economic crisis and the vision of Europe. There will also be an opportunity to discuss other topics of interest to the audience.

This debate is part of a European Commission initiative implemented in all EU countries. During the initiative events, people have the opportunity to discuss with EU politicians the rights of European citizens, the Europe they want to live in and their expectations regarding the European Union.

These discussions are a response to the call by European Commission President José Manuel Barroso for a broad debate on proposals for a deeper economic and monetary union and a political union based on democratic legitimacy.

The Citizens' Debates are part of the activities to mark 2013, the European Year of Citizens. This year is dedicated to your rights as European citizens.
