Hey student, don't upset the Owl!

Don't upset the owl becomes the motto of academic integrity! We all know very well that the owl is a symbol of science and knowledge, so the motto becomes metaphorical with an indirect meaning, and at the same time attracts and as if forces students to not break the motto that they carry with them. Since last October, the members of the Lithuanian Students' Union have been working on the declaration of academic honesty. And this school year, the campaign is finally starting: "Don't make the owls sad"! This promotion is not a one-time thing, it will continue continuously, because academic integrity is not a one-day thing. This is a very sensitive problem in higher education. The idea of this campaign is to instill in students that learning is necessary for oneself, to trust in one's own abilities and to respect other colleagues, students to behave honestly during settlements.

The VMU student representation aims to show that honest and responsible students study at our university, whose goal is not only to get a diploma, but also to become an educated and qualified specialist in their field, who is able to prepare for settlements on their own, behaves honestly and does not tolerate dishonest colleagues.

Several hundred students have already joined this action, but the aspirations of VMU students are much higher. We plan to involve our entire university community in this campaign. Freshmen already had the opportunity to sign declarations of academic integrity and receive campaign participants' badges during the VDU SA familiarization evening and VDU organizations fair.

All those who have not yet had the opportunity to sign this declaration, but want to join this action, are invited to visit the VDU Student Representative Office, S. Daukantu str. 27 – 201.

Student, don't upset the owl, be honest!
