The opportunity to play "live" Monopoly is only for VDU freshmen

Many have probably seen the movie Jumanji, where the board game became a reality, but can you imagine a "live" Monopoly? The freshmen of Vytautas the Great University (VDU) who participated in the "Balanced Fuksas 2018" camp organized by the Students' Union (SA) had the opportunity to move to a city where living game figures walk.

On the first day of the camp, the freshmen were divided into groups and tried to get to know each other better and learn to work as a team. Various games and applied methods allowed not only to better remember the names or interests of other camp participants, but also to discover new personal qualities.

"While working in a group, I avoid expressing my thoughts out loud, but during the camp I realized that everyone's contribution to the team's work is very important, so I boldly expressed my ideas" - Edita Mačiulytė, a student of pre-school and pre-school pedagogy, shared her impressions.

Later, the camp turned into the city of "Fuxopolis", where freshmen had to perform various tasks related to the activities of the VMU SA committees, participated in an auction, and were sent to prison for misdemeanors. "The plot of the story was really engaging and the characters played their roles perfectly," said Tomas Gavelis, who studies creative industries.

During the camp, the freshmen also participated in meetings with VDU SA alumni Eigirdas Sarkanus, Paulius Baltoks and Mantas Simanavičius, who talked about higher education and the student movement and had the opportunity to get to know the university's organizations.

"Subalansuotas fuksas" is a VDU SA project that has become a tradition, the goal of which is to help first-year students integrate more easily into the university community, introduce them to informal activities at the higher education institution, and establish relationships with both older students and fellow first-year students.
