Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) students elected representatives of their faculties in the VDU Student Parliament. 56 students participated in the elections, 50 of them were elected to represent the students of their faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the initial election information, the voting for the candidates was supposed to start on October 28, but after taking into account the quotas, the VDU SA Board noticed that only 50% candidates from all possible seats in the Student Parliament sent their documents on time. Therefore, it was decided to extend the application period in the hope of receiving more applicants. The chairman of the board is happy that this practice worked and we received 56 candidacy applications. "It is disappointing for several departments from which we did not receive any candidate's documents (Music Academy and Faculty of Natural Sciences), we hope that the parliament, when considering renewals, will also take into account the situation of those students", says the Chairperson of the Board, Solveiga Skaisgiryt\u0117. She also states that it was decided to start voting on Friday morning because Outlook mailboxes are usually not checked at night, so students would not notice the ballots and lose the opportunity to get to know and cast their vote for the candidates in the first 10 hours of the 48 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
