During the report-election conference of the Vytautas Magnus University Student Representative Office (VDU SA) held on March 17, Eigirdas Sarkanas, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, was elected as the new President. The annual activity report of the former President Mindaugas Grigos was also presented, the Board of VDU SA, the Audit Commission were elected.<\/p>\n
Since a quorum was not formed to directly elect the President of the VDU SA, he was elected by the VDU Student Parliament by secret ballot. The only candidate Eigirdas Sarkans collected 24 votes for, 4 against, 1 abstention. The new board was also elected: Arnoldas Chmelevskis, Nerijus Tamo\u0161i\u016bnas, Vytautas Ku\u010dinskas, \u0116uolas Mocevi\u010dius, \u017dygymantas Mituzas. The following were elected to the new Audit Commission: Gytis Perevi\u010dius, Gediminas Valaitis, Just\u0117 Elzbergait\u0117, Karolina Sakalauskyt\u0117, Vaidas Galinis.<\/p>\n
The new VDU SA President shares his emotions: "I am extremely happy. I know that I have an excellent team with which we will definitely achieve our goals in order to improve the social and academic well-being of students." Eigird's team consists of Arnas Bendaravi\u010dius (Vice President), Greta \u0160mai\u017eyt\u0117 (coordinator of the academic affairs committee), Solveiga Skaisgiryt\u0117 (coordinator of the social affairs committee) , Viktorija \u0160aulyt\u0117 (coordinator of the culture committee), Arnoldas Borovskis (coordinator of the projects and international relations committee), R\u016bta \u0160erpytyt\u0117 and Martynas \u0160varcas (coordinators of the public relations committee), \u017divil\u0117 Masyt\u0117 (chief editor of the newspaper "Studis"), Laurynas Nikelis (human resources committee coordinator), Augustina Mi\u0161eikait\u0117 (office administrator).<\/p>\n
