On April 4-8, students from various Lithuanian schools visited Vytautas the Great University and got to know student life. The participants of the "Students, become a student" project attended lectures, participated in post-lecture activities organized by the VMU Student Representative Office, and communicated both with each other and with older students and teachers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By participating in the lectures, students could get to know each other better and try out the desired study program, communicate with teachers and students. The project participants learned more about the interior of the university and liberal arts in a conversation with Simona Pilkiena, vice-rector of Studies, and Mantas Simanavi\u010dius, director of the Department of Studies. During the fair of organizations held on Tuesday evening, he was able to get acquainted with some of the student organizations operating at VMU and the organizers of the project - the VMU Student Representation. Acquaintance with VMU did not end with the administration and organizations. The participants learned about academic integrity, the career opportunities provided by the university, the differences between school and university, and the Lithuanian student certificate. Well, he consolidated all the acquired knowledge during a brainstorming session. The students also got to know the city of Kaunas and the faculties of VMU by participating in orientation competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 "A lot of new things, new people. On Monday, I thought that I wouldn't repeat it, but now, after a week, I would repeat these days many times," Ugn\u0117 Okunevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117, a student of Onu\u0161kis Donatas Malinauskas Gymnasium, shares her thoughts when asked about the project. Emilija Maciukevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117, an eleventh-grader from President Jonas \u017demaitis Gymnasium, seconded her: "I didn't want to go on Saturday, I thought I wouldn't make friends with anyone, it would be bad, but now it's a shame to say goodbye to everyone." The girls say that apart from all the time spent with other students, they also remembered the university. It became clearer how the lectures are held, the study process at VMU and what life is like in the dormitory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"After a 4-year hiatus, the project "Student, become a student" was implemented as we imagined, - says the Coordinator of Organizational Affairs, Santa Vozbutait\u0117 - perhaps I can't say that everything went without complaints, however, there is definitely something to learn, but thanks to the work of an amazing team all problems were solved on time and on the spot." Santa is happy that during the project the students were able to experience student life, make new acquaintances and get to know the desired study programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
