Students wishing to represent their academic department in the Vytautas Magnus University Student Parliament by October 2<\/strong>4<\/strong> d. 23:59 by e-mail to valdyba@vdusa.lt must submit an application for candidacy and a motivation letter.<\/strong><\/p>

What is the VMU Student Parliament?<\/strong><\/p>

The VMU Student Parliament is the highest student governing body, consisting of representatives elected by students of all study levels from academic departments. The Parliament resolves problems raised by student representatives and discusses issues relevant to students. The positions of the organization (VMU SA) on the most important issues of higher education and other issues are considered and formed, and the members of the VMU Student Parliament are elected or dismissed by secret ballot.
Chairman, VMU SA President, Board and Audit, consider and approve VMU SA activity and financial reports and correct or submit new VMU SA documents. The Student Parliament approves student representatives to the university's governing bodies. By a majority vote of all elected members, the Student Parliament may demand reconsideration of decisions made by the university's self-government institutions on study issues.<\/p>

How are the elections?<\/strong><\/p>

Students of his academic department vote for each candidate, and students of all doctoral fields vote for doctoral representatives. The elections to the Student Parliament are organized in accordance with the rules approved by the VMU Student Parliament at its meeting on September 20.

For each academic department, faculty or academy, (according to the number of students studying in it)\u00a0will be represented by the corresponding number of Members of Parliament:<\/strong><\/p>

Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) \u2013 7 representatives;
Faculty of Natural Sciences (FNS) \u2013 4 representatives;
Faculty of Humanities (HMF) \u2013 5 representatives;
Faculty of Informatics (FI) \u2013 4 representatives;
Faculty of Catholic Theology (CTF) \u2013 3 representatives;\u00a0
Faculty of Arts (FA) \u2013 5 representatives;
Academy of Music (MA) \u2013 3 representatives;
Faculty of Law (TF) \u2013 4 representatives;
Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy (PMDF) \u2013 5 representatives;
Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) \u2013 7 representatives;
Education Academy (\u0160A) \u2013 11 representatives;
Agricultural Academy (AA) \u2013 10 representatives;
Doctoral students \u2013 4 representatives.<\/p>

Students wishing to become members of the Student Parliament must send a completed application form by 24 October 23:59 to the email address valdyba@vdusa.lt\u00a0request<\/a>\u00a0and a free-form motivation letter, in Lithuanian and English.<\/p>
